SBA Ministry of the week for Feb. 19: Good Spirit Bible Camp
We are looking forward to see how God will use GSBC this summer. We had a very successful previous summer with 27 campers coming to know the Lord Jesus as their Savior. We are happy to have Joel Ivey on board with us through the winter and spring season to get things rolling. Please pray for guidance and direction for Joel and the board as we press forward towards the next camping season. Please pray for the search committee and the full time director position as summer approaches. Please pray for the spring and summer positions that need to be filled along with the campers that will be attending. Thank you for your continued support of this SBA ministry.

We continue to thank God for His faithfulness to us and we praise Him for the recovery of several in our congregation who have been quite ill over the last few months. We are also giving thanks for opportunities to be a witness in our neighborhood and we ask for your prayers as we plan and prepare outreach events in our surrounding communities.

We praise God for the joy of remembering our fellow SBA churches each week in prayer. We do thank each one of you for praying for us here in Yorkton. We praise God for the continued growth in our weekly children's club and in our Junior Youth/Youth group. Please pray as we have begun the search for an associate pastor of youth & music. Continue to pray with us for the completion of our much needed building expansion. The external structure is up but there is still much work to do before the building becomes usable.

Praise God for the way he is working throughout the ministries of the church! We ended 2011 with all our financial needs and missions commitments met, and more! Praise and prayer for our Awana ministry as our leaders seek to love children and speak God's truth into their lives. We will host a Senior Pastor candidate Feb. 10-12. Pray for the pastoral couple and our church as we seek God's direction for our Senior Pastor position.

We are pleased to announce our new Youth Pastor Stephen Luff. Please pray for the Watoto Missions Trip; 11 are going to Uganda from Jan. 26th to Feb. 16th; for journey mercies and that they will be a blessing there. Pray for our Leadership Retreat on Jan. 20 & 21st Pray for the monthly Youth Worship night on the 1st Friday of the month. Pray for our Preschool that God would bless those attending and for growth.

We thankfully approach this new year. Our neighbourhood is changing rapidly. Many young families are moving in. We want to be wise in adapting to this new reality. Some families whose children attended VBS are open to the gospel and attend from time to time. Older siblings are attending youth regularly. We are in the process of looking at some major maintenance work on our church building and as God leads and provides some remodelling to fit the ministry needs. We invite you to attend the SBA meetings, March 23-25 which will be held at our church. Look forward seeing many of you.

Happy New Year! We praise the Lord for guiding us throughout the pastor search process AND for answered prayers.
Pastor Randy and Shawn Olson have accepted our call and will be arriving before end of January. We have been blessed by our Christmas banquet and Sunday School program. God is bringing new families to worship. Our youth ministry, Nexus, continues strong. We have just begun to work on looking for a youth minister. Please pray for us as we serve and as we seek God's hand of blessing in our lives and in our community.

Praise the Lord for the youth that come every week. Pray for their understanding of the Lord and that they will read God's Word and pray every day. Pray that things will work out for taking the youth to Lac La Biche AB. to a Native School for a youth retreat in February. Pray for the Awana Club (which will continue in Jan.) that there will be peace among the boys and girls, and they will listen as we teach them. We have 22 plus kids coming. We do so appreciate your prayers. How we need them! Have a blessed Christmas.

We thank the Lord for his continued many blessings. Last weekend was our Christmas banquet with 135 in attendance. Praise God! We have new families attending our church and two couples were received into membership last week. Our youth pastor, Luke Miller is doing an amazing work with our youth. God is working in the lives of our youth within and around our community. We thank you for praying for us, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Currently we are in a time of transition as our pastor has resigned and we begin the search for a new one. We ask for prayer as we undertake this process and prayer for our community in general. SBA Ministry of the week for Nov. 20: SBA Women's Ministry.
Praise the Lord for a wonderful Ladies Retreat held in Yorkton in October. Sixty-four women attended. SBA ladies brought their friends to hear about ‘ How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news.' Worship times were awesome; all enjoyed the Spa demonstration, the book table, as well as fellowship opportunities, and the food - both spiritual and physical. Thanks to all who came and also to those who hosted.

This last week Pastor Rick was able to preach to the community at the Remembrance day service. Our Sunday School has begun and we have some small groups begun for the Fall. We thank God that this has come together and that it will be used by Him that we may glorify Him more in Nokomis. Pray for our community as the school is under review again.

God is doing great things! Our youth, young married and adults studies are started, youth events every Friday are well attended, and the congregation is growing! Please pray as we have sold our building to be moved, and we need to look toward a building project.
SBA Ministry of the week for Oct. 23:Good Spirit Bible Camp:
This has been an exciting year at GSBC. Our summer camps have increased 52% since 2008, and family camps 70%. These are incredible numbers and shows how hard our staff and board work to make the various camps a success. The success is also a testament of the support of the SBA churches and the people that support them. Please pray for the board and staff as they attempt to manage this growth. The most exciting news is that we had 27 campers respond in faith & believe in Jesus. 12 campers rededicated their lives to God.

We are giving thanks for the blessings of a great harvest this year! This summer we began meeting for prayer every Wednesday evening and have restarted our adult Sunday School class in September. Your prayers are appreciated as we continue with plans for outreach events to our community this fall. On October 16, we will be having our annual Thanksgiving Supper followed by an Installation Service for our new pastor and his wife.

We praise God for a great summer VBS and the start to our fall ministries. On September 11th we held our kickoff Carnival after our worship service with a good response from our community. After a "wet" start, our building expansion is progressing along well. Please pray that the roof will be closed in before any severe weather begins. Pray also for our Associate Pastor search and for our youth ministries during this interim period. Remember to pray for our monthly youth worship nights (Raise the Roof) on the first Friday of each month.

We held our fall kick off pancake breakfast on September 11. Sunday School has started with full classes. Awana began with registration on September 7 and now has over 70 children signed up. Youth ministries are in full swing with many teens from the community attending. Pray for all those that serve in these and all our ministries; pray for our Search Committee as they seek God's direction for our Senior Pastor position; pray that God would continue to provide appropriate weather for harvest.

We had a busy, event filled summer. We celebrated our 100th anniversary in July with great attendance and less than ideal weather. In August, we ran a 5 Day Club and one 6 year old girl accepted Christ! Pray as we continue to seek God's direction in our church and community.

Please pray for Balgonie Baptist Church as we continue to seek God's will in the selection of a pastor. Pray for the church board and ministry leaders as they continue to lead the church and implement fall programs. We are excited to report that 68 children attended VBS this summer, our Sunday School program starts Sept. 11th and our monthly K-6 Club starts Sept. 28th. Praise Items: Twenty eight campers attended from Carry the Kettle, ten trusted Christ as their own personal Saviour. Pray for these ten to grow in their walk with the Lord. One of the teen girls, Tiana, spent three weeks as a Junior councillor. She has grown much in her walk with the Lord by being with other Christians. Her face glowed as she shared how she led two boys to Christ. She is determined to let her light shine at home and at school. She has had good talks with her mom. Pray that she will stand for Christ. Nettie and I look forward to this fall, pray for direction as we have Awana clubs, Teens, and Adult bible study and I teach construction at the school again. Thank you for praying.

Praise the Lord for a great week of VBS! Our people really pulled together and almost every family participated in some way! Pastor James designed the T-Shirts and wrote the puppet plays. BettyAnn Regehr coordinated the entire program and provided the spiritual leadership and Bible Talk each night!

SBA Church of the Week for July 17: Nokomis Baptist

We thank God for the goodness he has provided. While we were still affected by the heavy rains, God has spared us some of the problems elsewhere. For this we are grateful and we pray for those who are worse off than we are. We are also grateful that on Father's day we baptized a new member. We joined our community garage sale and on a rainy day we had an excellent profit. These funds will help us add a measure of handicapped accessibility to our church. Pray for us as we prepare for the coming Fall.

This Spring we had the joy of seeing four adults baptized and two others also added to our church membership. As well, our children's club finished another successful year. Continue to pray for area farmer as the rain as severely impaired their ability to seed the majority of their fields.
